The Nottingham Chamber Music Seminar is a day course for students and adults to enjoy a focused study of chamber music in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Pre-formed ensembles of all levels, from beginners to advanced, are encouraged to attend. Whether this is your introduction to chamber music, or you are seeking advanced study, this seminar is for you! Ensembles of all types - including strings, piano, woodwind, and brass - are welcome. Groups can bring pieces they have been studying, or are just beginning to learn. Groups can also choose to perform in the public Chamber Masterclass.
Coachings are given by the Villiers Quartet, the Quartet-in-Residence at Oxford University and Nottingham High School. Participants in NCMF 2019 gain admission to the Villiers Quartet concert following the seminar. During the breaks, violin makers from Turner Violins will also be on hand to showcase stringed instrument making and repairs.
