The online film premiere of “Sarabande” – performed at St. Mary’s in the Lace Market. St. Mary’s is the oldest religious institution in Nottingham, located in the heart of the historic Lace Market district. It is the largest mediaeval building in Nottingham, with building works dating from 1377 to 1475.
In July 2020, the NCMF had to cancel its concerts due to the pandemic. Amidst the closures of many of Nottingham’s cultural spaces and venues, Festival Director Carmen Flores and filmmaker Tim Bassford filmed a multi-episode performance of the Suite in C Major by J.S. Bach (arranged for viola), paying tribute to some of Nottingham’s most iconic spaces.
