Friday, July 15 – Together in Isolation
Like many musicians around the world, Tamaki Higashi (violin) and Carmen Flores (viola) spent much of 2020 in isolation as the music industry took a difficult blow. This concert explores their unique story of working together in the pandemic, and reflects upon the upheaval that Covid-19 had upon musicians and composers. Ticket includes drink and post-concert discussion after the concert.15
Saturday, July 16 – #VQCreate Student Compositions
In this new community collaboration, the Villiers Quartet performs quartets composed by young composers from Nottingham and Sheffield schools as part of the #VQCreate initiative. FREE ADMISSION16

As part of the Villiers Quartet’s exciting VQDiscovery course for amateur musicians, join the VQ in a guided group play along of Beethoven’s iconic 'String Quartet in A minor, Op. 132.' String players of all ages are invited to join and play alongside the VQ.16
Sunday, July 17 – Villiers Quartet
Healing and renewal are themes that resonate with the Villiers Quartet's closing concert. In the historical surroundings of St Mary’s in the Lace Market, the Villiers Quartet perform music by Britten, Haydn, and Beethoven, and give the live concert premiere of Philip Herbert's 'Solicitudo' for string quartet.17
